Does anyone here use this wonderful thing? While at my aunt's I got to try her steam mop. No disposable heads or harmful chemicals just a good teri cloth pad and superhot steam. These are bloody expensive so I'm still waiting to get mine. I stopped using swiffer because I got tired of replacing heads and cleaning fluid, add to that the chemicals cause liver failure in pets and small children. That would mean they're out for pregnant women as well. This thing took up a grease spill with a dash of vinegar added to the water, oh yeah no batteries to replace either. You just toss the pad in to the wash with your other kitchen cottons. I shall have a clean floor soon. Tiffany
Ok, this sounds interesting. I too, don't want to use the swiffer.
Do you have a brand name or website?
Hi, I like the concept of a steam mop, but there's still something about using a cleanser that I find appealing. I don't have pets and no children, so chemicals don't bother me. The vinegar on a grease spill was a good idea. I'll have to look into one of these.
Shark makes one which my wife purchased a year ago for all the hard wood surfaces we have in the house and she said she'd never be caught with out one. The clean up is nice no chemical smells left behind and most of all the steam is so hot that you just feel like the mess must be cleaned! lol!.
I red an article and from what I herd. It had become somewhat of a big market. There are many companies that make them now.
I'm an infomercial freak and I saw one for the Shark Steam Mop not too long ago. It looks awesome, and my husband and I are thinking of trying it. I can't mop with tons of water because my balance is affected by my cerebral palsy, so mopping with steam and no puddles of soapy greasy water is totally appealing to me.
Shark just came out with a new one that includes some attachments for cleaning carpet and apolstry and counter tops ETC, looks very handy. We've used ours for a year and a half now and have only recently bought more pads of ebay for 3 bucks.
how much does it cost?
i have the h2o mop. it's awesome. it too has the attachment for carets, but have never used that bit. it's easy to use and you don't have to keep buying the chemicals. just add water, t the cloth mop head thingy , plug in and go. as far as price i think it was one hundred fourty or so maybe a bit cheaper. i got it at christmas. informircial is where we heard about it and ordered it. it still plays at night.
See? Infomercials are good for something. Yeah I want the one with the attachments for the carpets and countertops. I really want one now! Lol. Guess I'll have to save up for one.
Mine was a birthday present. Shark had a deal where you got the mop and vacuum cleaner together for $200. The vacuum works beautifully, our floor has never been so clean. We hide the mop when the neighbor lady visits. She wants one now too. Sharks cleaning pads are thicker than the h2o ones. The vacuum is bagless and picks up pet hair like a dream. If your kitchen and bathroom are small one pad will do it. I usually change the pad before doing the bathroom, much more sanitary. I hope you get the pair, you'll never want to clean with anything else.Oh both appliances are dummy proof. We were impressed by how simple both things were. Happy cleaning.Tiffany
I really want one of these mops, but can't decide which one to get. I saw the infomercial for the H2O one. Just so you guys know, you can by these brand new on eBay for a lot cheaper than buying from the company or other sites/stores. I'm not sure about other mops, but I know that you can purchase the H2O Ultra Steam Mop brand new on eBay for $79, and that includes shipping.
I have heard that people like specific brands over others simply because of how they're made. I have heard that some mops continually let out a stream of water, whether you're moving it or not, which can cause puddling, and others have an actual trigger that you press when you want the water to come out. Is this true? Anything you guys can share about these mops would be greatly appreciated.
i really want one of these now
I do too. No more chemicals, although someone mentioned earlier about vinegar. It really is a good alternative cleaner if you're hesitant about using chemicals, but it only works for certain surfaces, and the smell is less than desirable, but it does the job. Baking soda is also great for getting odors, and in many cases, stains out of certain objects, mainly dishes.
Anyway, I want one of these mops. I currently have to wash the entire floor with a cloth and a towel for drying while my hands and knees ache too much from putting my weight on them for sometimes hours at a time. I'll take just about any other alternate cleaning method right now, provided it actually gets done properly. lol.
